Mental health support for teachers
Teaching can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly challenging. You know firsthand the unique pressures that weigh on your mental wellbeing day after day. We see you, we hear you, and we want to help. That's why Teachit and REC have joined forces to create a mental health service specifically for you, launching in September 2025.
Why we've created this service
Our recent survey revealed what many of you are experiencing:
- Nearly half of your fellow teachers (47.3%) needed professional mental health support in just the past six months
- You've told us about the barriers: no time (50.9%), concerns about cost (32.6%), and uncertainty about where to find help that truly understands your challenges (25.8%)
You deserve better. Together with REC, we're creating support that fits your life - affordable, flexible, and available exactly when you need it most.

Yes, absolutely. Your confidentiality and security are incredibly important to us. We have built the most up-to-date infrastructure to make sure that the information you provide is safeguarded. Here are a few things that are important for you to know:
– Everything you tell your therapist is totally confidential. No one in REC (or Teachit) has access to your messages other than your mental health coach.
– Messages between you and your therapist are secured and encrypted.
– You can delete your messages with your therapist by clicking the ‘erase’ button next to each message that you have sent.
– REC is Cyber Essentials Certified. This is a UK government standard cyber security certification showing that we have taken the necessary measures to mitigate common risks and cyber threats.
– We do not share your private data with any third parties.
You will have access to a library of masterclasses, podcasts and articles. New resources are added every week. You will be able to access your resources anytime when you log into REC’s website.
From the moment you become a REC user, you will have access to the library of resources. A new webinar will be added every month. You will be sent a link ahead of the webinar. All webinars will be stored on REC’s website so you can come back to them whenever you need to.
Webinar topics will include: How to handle the fear of making mistakes; coming back to work after the holidays or extended leave; how to handle difficult conversations with parents; how to grow as an educator; how do I balance work and my personal life; how to avoid burnout; how to manage compassion fatigue; how to manage when I don’t feel supported by my headteacher; and more!
