Celebrate the coronation of Britain’s new monarch, King Charles III on 6th May 2023, with this fun coronation-themed trivia quiz for KS2-4 students.

The quiz includes two rounds of questions and tasks, including trivia facts about the new king, royal anagrams and coronation facts relating to Westminster Abbey.

The first quiz round includes a range of multiple-choice questions with a subject theme, such as geography, history or design and technology. There are also questions about Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

The second quiz round includes royal drawing tasks, word scramble challenges and fun facts about His Majesty, the King and Camilla, the Queen Consort as well as ranking questions about the British royal family and its heirs to the throne.

It’s perfect as a quick topical lesson starter, for marking the day with your tutor group or for a fun fifteen minutes!

Example questions from the quiz:

  • What three instruments does King Charles III play?
  • Draw your best coronation crown. Your teacher will decide on the winner who will get one point.
  • The coronation chair in Westminster Abbey is more than 700 years old. What material is it made from?
