Four areas of need – SEND

  • The use of high-quality teaching and inclusive practice is key to minimising barriers to learning
  • Can be viewed within four broad areas of need and provision:
  1. Communication and interaction
  2. Cognition and learning
  3. Social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  4. Sensory and/or physical needs
  • Awareness of these can reduce/remove barriers to learning and promote wellbeing
