Diamond ranking activity – reducing energy consumption

This KS3 resource encourages students to think about ways that we could save energy in our daily lives. They are given a set of statements and their task is to rank them in importance and impact in a diamond nine structure. To start they are asked to discard the three statements that they consider to be the least important.  

The task would make an ideal starter activity for the 'Earths resources' topic. It would help generate a class discussion as students could be asked to justify the rankings they have chosen.
