The journey home from a language course turns into a bit of a nightmare. This reading and speaking maze includes lots of useful travel vocabulary and also practises narrative tenses in speaking and writing.

An extract from the teaching notes:

Language

Tenses: present simple and continuous, present perfect (for the reading); past simple, past continuous, past perfect (for the speaking and writing).

Functional expressions: making suggestions; agreeing and disagreeing.

Travel vocabulary: collect somebody, boats can’t sail, emergency exit, sound the fire alarm, bad connection, adopt the emergency ‘brace’ position, steering wheel, terrorist, ask for a lift, attract someone’s attention.
