Past, present or future?

Students often get mixed up with forming tenses and this worksheet is designed to help students notice patterns in the formation of the perfect, present and near future tenses. It will also help them to use all the clues in the sentence, including time phrases, which will help them be more accurate.
Having labelled each sentence as past, present or future, students underline the words which gave them clues (time phrases and verbs). They are then prompted to analyse the patterns in the verb formation for each tense. Answers are provided. You could then ask students to translate each sentence into English as accurately as possible.
