Causes of floods

This resource is an investigation into the different causes of flooding. Students complete a card sort activity, categorising statements into the different causes of flooding. These includes causes linked to rainfall, snow and ice melt, tidal influences, and other natual causes. They then investigate flood intensifying conditions, considering urbanisation, changes in vegetation cover, floodplain developments etc.
