Coastal assessment mats
These free coastal assessment mats from Discover the World Education are primarily aimed at GCSE students, but they can also be used to stretch your more able learners or as a foundation for students starting AS level studies.
The zipped folder contains three mats, with answers, on the following sub-themes:
- coastal case study: Italy
- coastal landscapes and features
- coastal processes.
Each mat consists of a central image with exam practice questions around it. The questions include a range of different question types, including open and closed questions, and a variety of exam command words.
The mats are relevant for the physical geography paper of any exam board that includes a focus on coasts and their environments. They can be used for homework or as an assessment in class. Each mat should take around 25 minutes to complete.
