The process of desertification

A resource identifying the processes involved in the desertification of land. Students use video clips and an information sheet to understand the causes of desertification. They complete a differentiated task to create a flow diagram showing the causes of desertification in the Sahel region of Africa and they will begin to identify some of the social and economic effects. Students can then complete two exam-style questions.

Included within the resource are teaching notes to offer guidance on the tasks set, suggested answers and writing frames for the exam-style questions.
