Rebuilding New Orleans: a decision making task
This resource asks students to consider the impacts of Hurricane Katrina and how the city of New Orleans could be rebuilt. Students begin by looking at different responses to the hazard and categorising them into short term or long term responses. They then take on the roles of four different stakeholders and complete a group decision making task and individual write up activity.
Included within the resource are role cards, differentiated options sheets, a write-up framework and a mark scheme which could be used for self, peer or teacher assessment.
