This is an image analysis activity focusing on the conditions in differing urban settlements. Students compare photos of a Thai stilt house to blocks of flats in Glasgow. They are to complete a number of different activities using these two images. These activities include producing annotated sketches, comparing life in the different environments and carrying out research about building design for different climates and natural hazards. Teaching notes are provided offering suggestions on how to manage the activities.
