Quilting the legacy of slavery

Students work in groups on suggested topics to produce a memory quilt which can then be stitched together to form a class display. Topics include culture and music, politics, civil rights, racism and the impact on buildings and monuments. Full instructions and a quilt template are included to help put this creative activity into action in your classroom.
