Were highwaymen ‘gentlemen of the road’ or violent thugs?
A source based activity for GCSE thematic crime courses. Students work in groups to weigh up the evidence for an against the main enquiry question. A range of engaging source material is provided, including primary accounts of highway robberies in the eighteenth century. Picture sources are also available to download as a free PDF.
