How to use these resources to promote respect in your classroom

The 'Respectability raffle' is a fun and engaging way to encourage and reward exemplary behaviour, setting high expectations for your class and fostering a respectful environment. Children are immediately recognised for their good behaviour which helps motivate them to consistently show respect and follow school rules.

To use this strategy:

  1. Print the raffle ticket poster on the card, score dotted lines, and place it with a collection jar in a visible location.
  2. Explain the rules to students — exemplary behaviour earns a ticket. Students write their name on a ticket and place it in the jar when earned.
  3. Establish a regular drawing schedule and reward the winning student at the designated time.
