This set of Spanish question and answer cards is a great way to start a lesson with some speaking and listening on the school topic. It can be done as a whole class activity or in small groups (if you give each student one or more cards). All the questions and answers relate to the school day, subjects, opinions, uniform etc.

Cut up the double sided cards before the lesson and hand them out at random, giving a card to each pair of students. The student with the first question reads it out, and the rest of the class listen to see if they have the matching answer. Whoever does have it reads it out, and then turns over their card to read the next question. The 'chain reaction' continues until they reach the last card.

Try timing this activity and then see if they can repeat it at the end of the lesson and beat their time!

To comment the comment about "Mates", being a Spanish speaker native myself, born and raised in Spain. I can confirm that it is actually correct to say "Mates", as we use the subject in plural, "las Mates", instead of "Las Matemáticas". Remember how important it is to us that silly adjective agreement, gender and number. We would not say "la mates" any more than we would say "las mate". Both sound wrong to me.
I think that this is a great resource, thanks.

it is good but I have noticed a bit of a mistake when asking the question : te gustan las mates? We would say Te gustan las mate? Or Tengo mate a las 9 . We say: me gustan las matematicas o me gustan las mate. Apart from that it is a good example on how to practise these questions and answers
