This pick-and-mix resource offers simple strategies for students to improve their wellbeing when studying or revising at home.

From decluttering and moving the furniture around to regular micro-breaks and eye care, these straightforward suggestions can make a real difference to how independent learners feel on a daily basis.

Here's are some example tips from this resource:

Find three things

Make a point of looking for three good things in your life every day. It could even be something small that you normally take for granted. Share your three good things with a family member or friend and ask them to think of their three top moments too.

Move the furniture

Moving things around in your bedroom or work space makes things feel refreshingly different. Even turning your desk in a different direction for the day so you get a new view is worth a try.

Declutter your desk

A tidy desk is a first small step towards a calmer mind – even if you’re working at the kitchen table. Organise your books and files, recycle any scrap paper and sort out your stationery. Once you can see the desk, give it a dust and a wipe, and you’re ready to get to work.
