An engaging introductory resource on idiolect and sociolects, using transcripts of the 'Bing bing' and 'Party' sketches from 'The Catherine Tate Show' (not included). Students identify the key features of the characters' idiolects and consider grammar, accent and lexis.  Includes ideas for students to create their own linguistic fingerprint as an extension task, and suggested answers for teachers.
