This creative and engaging resource is perfect for KS3 or lower-attaining GCSE students to help them to engage with Macbeth's actions and motivations in the dagger scene, Act 2 scene 1.
It includes a summary of the scene, a matching activity to connect descriptions of Macbeth's feelings with key quotations, and an extension activity to help students to write a paragraph about the scene.
An extract from the resource:
- Draw a big outline of a dagger. Then cut out the quotation blood drops and stick them on the dagger.
- Now cut out the descriptions of Macbeth’s thoughts and feelings in the boxes and match them with the quotations blood drops. Stick them on the dagger sheet.
- Now use three colours to express Macbeth’s feelings.
- Choose one colour to show he wants to kill King Duncan.
- Choose another colour to show that he doesn’t want to kill King Duncan.
- Colour one final colour to show his feelings of confusion.
