Students read and analyse an extract from Monica Ali's Brick Lane (not published due to copyright restrictions), where the character Nazneen describes the view from her London flat.
Students identify a range of descriptive techniques in Ali's writing before writing their own written description of the rooms and views from the rooms in which they live.

Its very useful, but if the pages suggested from Black Swan could also be attached as part of the resource , it would save one time.
