Students look at short transcripts of historic television adverts for children's toys (My Little Pony, Power Rangers, Batman, Barbie etc.), and consider an exam-style question: 

Write about some of the ways in which these texts represent gender.  In your answer you should refer to any frameworks you consider appropriate and any relevant ideas from language study.
