The Romantics

A number of study sheets aimed at AS and A Level students working on poetry from the Romantic movement.

The poems featured are:

• 'London' by William Blake
• 'Kubla Khan' by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
• 'A Red Red Rose' by Robert Burns
• 'To a Skylark' by Percy Bysshe Shelley

For each poem, there is a series of analytical, comparative or reflective questions for students to work through.

Alongside the questions based on the individual poems is a discussion question on the concept of Romanticism alongside notes based on a radio broadcast delivered by Melvin Bragg. Students could read the notes before taking part in a class discussion on the topic.
