A scheme of work on Black English

An eclectic resource which could be used in a variety of ways with students. Including lesson aims, objectives and teaching ideas, there are three handouts for classroom use. There is a summary of the key grammatical, phonological and lexical features of Black English which could be used with any data set, a series of quotations from writers and linguists about Black English which could be used to discuss attitudes, and a contextual summary about the development of Black English.
