I tried this resource with Yr 11 class but the 'differentiated' task still had to be simplified further for some of them. Anyone faced the same challenge with their students?

Perfect! I may use this when analysing real life texts, this way they can see what 'better writers' do and consider all of the thought that goes into writing a text (rather than rushing to write in an exam).
