The Pont d'Arc cave is a copy of the Chauvet cave, open to the public so that they can discover this Paleolithic masterpiece. The Chauvet cave was discovered in 1994 and is perfectly preserved. The murals were made by Cro-Magnon man 36,000 years ago and they are among the oldest in the world. They represent animals. Cro-Magnon men perfected their techniques, using the tools and paint they made. They were real artists.
