German ping pong translation game: holidays resource
Designed for KS4 German students studying GCSE, this fun ping pong game is based around the topic of holidays. There are translations in German and English for each sentence or phrase, prompting students to become more confident in their German speaking about this topic.
The game is for two students to play at any one time, but with more sheets printed all of the pairs in the class can play the game at the same time.
How to use this resource
Divide students into pairs, assigning the relevant A or B part to each student. Student A starts by saying their first chunk of translation and then their partner (who holds the answer) corrects any errors.
Students should complete their half of the sheet, writing down each translation chunk once it has been spoken aloud and then corrected. The answers can then be modified in preparation for students' own personalised written and spoken responses.
Students can build on this activity by creating their own ideal holiday description or a description of their last holiday to share in class.
