Choosing an average

A KS3-4 maths resource that can be used to practise finding the mean, median and mode for raw data and then choosing which gives the fairest impression. 

The resource consists of a worksheet and accompanying PowerPoint to allow for class discussion. 

The activity has 3 scenarios, each having the same format:

• a scenario and raw data
• calculating the mean, median and mode
• deciding which is the best average for the given scenario
