Finding the area of a circle
A lovely visual KS3/4 PowerPoint demonstration to derive the formula for the area of a circle.
The resource includes questions that could be used as worked examples or as independent work.
Questions include:
- area of a circle given the radius
- area of a circle given the diameter
- area of semicircle
- area of a quadrant
This PowerPoint also includes an extension slide in which students calculate the radius or diameter of a circle given the area.

Great PPT but the sound effects are such an intrusion and unnecessary! I have to play it with the sound off. Any suggestions for removing them permanently?
