Fraction tiles – writing fractions

A simple fractions worksheet in which children find what fraction of a rectangle is shaded. They look at how many tiles each rectangle is divided up into to give the denominator and how many are shaded to give the numerator. At this stage they are not expected to reduce fractions to their simplest form but they may spot when a half or a quarter is covered.
