How to play multiplication bingo
To play the multiplication bingo game using these resources, children first choose 9 numbers from the times table to be practised and write them on their bingo cards or whiteboards. After verifying their numbers with a partner, the bingo caller reads multiplication questions at random from the provided question sheet. Children then solve the questions mentally and circle the corresponding number on their cards if they have it. The game continues until a child completes a line or full house, and their card is checked for accuracy.
Using multiplication bingo in KS1 and KS2
For KS1 children, focus on simpler timetables such as 2s, 5s, and 10s to build confidence and basic recall skills. For KS2 children, use more challenging timetables like 6s, 7s, and 8s to reinforce their knowledge and speed. The game can be adapted to suit varying abilities, with less able children working in pairs or using a multiplication square for support, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable learning experience for all.
