This retrieval challenge task includes colour-coded revision questions for the Space topic, designed for GCSE physics.

Students can choose from 12 tasks of varying difficulty, from 2-mark tasks to 5-mark tasks. 

This activity is perfect for revision, formative assessment at the end of teaching the space topic or as a self-directed homework task. 

 

Example tasks: 

What is the name and type of our galaxy? (2 marks)

Describe the force of gravity for objects in orbit. (3 marks)

Describe the big bang theory of the universe and give two pieces of evidence to support this theory. (4 marks)

Describe the life cycle of a star the same size as our Sun. (5 marks)

This is a really simple, yet engaging, revision task, with the different tiers of complexity providing a way in for all pupils. The only down-side is the lack of exemplar answers, which would be incredibly helpful (both for teachers and even more so as a resource for pupils to ‘check’ their answers).
