This set of eight Spanish sentences giving opinions of different school subjects, with reasons, is designed for a walking dictation activity. It's also great practice for reading aloud, but with an additional memory challenge!

Start by cutting up the sentences and sticking them in different locations around or outside your classroom. Students then work in pairs, taking turns to go and find a sentence, memorise it and walk back to dictate it to their partner. They can return to the sentence as many times as they need in order to retain it, but strictly no pens (or phones!) are allowed for the walking partner.

To ensure accuracy, you could tell students that there is one point per word available as long as it is written perfectly. You could also award points for the first pair of students to finish or (more randomly) for good pronunciation as you listen in. At the end of the activity, students can swap their written sentences with another group, who will allot points. Project the correct sentences from the resource to enable them to peer assess. As a follow on task, students could translate the sentences into English, before writing some similar opinions of their own subjects.
