Changing places

In this decay and decomposition resource, students are given some text to edit and rewrite by replacing some of the words and phrases with more appropriate scientific keywords. The extract could be read to the class so individuals can make suggestions for improvements that could be made or done as an individual or paired activity. 

For higher challenge give the text without the suggested keywords and ask students to alter the structure of the sentences to accommodate their choice of keywords. 

It could be used as a recap activity for KS4 students - extend by asking for a rewrite and not giving suggested keywords.
