Exercise 1

Complete the captions for the story with suitable verbs in the past simple tense. 

  1. It was pouring with rain one day and Penny was bored.  She ................................... to bake some cakes but  ................................... that her cupboard was empty, so she  ................................... to go to the store.

  3. She ................................... the car and  ................................... into the store, but she  ................................... to lock the car door.

I haven´t used it yet but I intend to make it useful for teaching narrative. I´m always looking for something guided like this because there are some students who find it difficult and have no ideas how to write a narrative. Thank you very much.
