This resource is based on the first two stanzas of the poem ‘Dans Paris’ by Paul Éluard. It is designed to introduce the demonstrative adjectives ce/cet/cette/ces in context, as well as making an authentic poem very accessible. The poem can be accessed online, using the link in the teaching notes.
Start by projecting it and reading it as a class, allowing plenty of opportunity for repetition and pronunciation practice. Students could then translate the first two stanzas before completing the tasks on the worksheet. You might like to share the last verse of the poem with the class before students write their own version using a similar structure.
