This French resource starts with a card sort to identify leisure activities in three tenses: imperfect, perfect and present. Students then complete some gap fills which model how to use all three tenses in one paragraph. The answers for this are provided for self or peer assessment.
The follow-up activity digs deeper into these paragraphs and students must pick out key phrases in French that will form a bank of ideas for their own writing, including time phrases, connectives, opinions and higher-level ingredients. Students then work with a partner to write a response to the title question – Que fais-tu pour rester en forme? – using three tenses and connectives.
