This KS4 physics resource can be used in a variety of ways in preparation for the requirement to know the formulas for the GCSE physics exam.

Give students a copy of the first page to keep in their notes, or else chop it up for a matching activity. The second page contains gapped equations for students to complete.

This GCSE physics equations sheet includes the following formulae:

  • weight = mass × gravitational field strength
  • work done = force × distance
  • force applied to a spring = spring constant × extension
  • distance travelled = speed × time
  • resultant force = mass × acceleration
  • momentum = mass × velocity
  • kinetic energy = 0.5 × mass × speed2
  • gravitational potential energy = mass × gravitational field strength x height
  • wave speed = frequency × wavelength
  • charge flow = current × time
  • potential difference = current x resistance
  • power = potential difference × current
  • power = current2 × resistance
  • energy transferred = power × time
  • energy transferred = charge flow × potential difference

Very helpful thank you. Will be good to hand out so they can learn them in time for the GCSE tests.

This will be very helpful. I will be adapting it to include space for writing the units for each value.
