This comprehensive set of 230 physics equations – with answers – can be used for exam practice and revision.  for GCSE combined science and physics students.

This downloadable worksheet includes a range of calculations and equations for students to practise in the following topics:

  • Speed
  • Acceleration
  • Newton's second law
  • Momentum

There are instructions for students about how to complete all the equations at the beginning of each topic. Each topic is divided into sets of 10 equations to make it easy to work through the calculations in class or for homework.

Answers are also included for teachers and/or for self or peer marking in class.

For a similar set of equations on weight and mass, resultant forces, work done, moments, pressure, pressure in fluids, download Forces 1: bumper set of equations for more GCSE physics practice calculations.

Example calculations from the worksheet:

Speed

Distance travelled = speed x time

s = v t

(You should be able to recall and apply this equation.)

Complete all answers correct to 2 significant figures.

Calculate the distance that the following vehicles travelled.

a.  A car travelled at 4.7 m/s for 40 s

b. A motorbike driven at 28.4 m/s for 30 s.

c. A train travelled at 12.5 m/s for 10 s.

d. A coach driven at 5.5 m/s for 5000 s

e. A lorry travelled at 7.8 m/s for 40 s.
