This is a great resource on argument and discussion using the themes of school uniform and mobile phones for under 12s. It includes the text of a balanced argument for children to analyse, frameworks for children to jot down their own ideas, and a final task for children to compile arguments for and against children under 12 having mobile phones. A super way to get children to think about how to present balanced arguments and discussions in a text.

Review this resourceHello Saud,
This is one of our older resources which is in the process of being updated and so the term 'connectives' is outdated. Instead, look for connecting words and phrases in the text such as 'alternatively' and 'in summary'. I do hope this helps.

I try to answer the questions, but I do not understand the question 2.

I like the fact that it captures all the features of a balanced argument and uses guided questions to help learners identify salient points from the text.
Great resource.

The example text is stimulating and can be used to develop points for both sides further.
