Measures of central tendency and spread
A KS4/5 maths worksheet resource that can be used to revise and practise concepts regarding measures of central tendency and spread. The activity is suitable for GCSE and A-Level Year 1 Statistics.
The worksheet gives students two sets of data:
- A grouped frequency table showing the heights of a group of Year 12 girls
- A list of raw data giving the heights of a group of Year 12 boys.
Students are then given 8 statements and need to do calculations to decide whether the statement is true or false. or that there is not enough information given. The last statement asks the students to calculate standard deviation, so this can be deleted for KS4 students.

Year 10 are recalling information and this is an excellent way of getting them to reflect on previously learnt material. Thank you.
