World Book Day

Resources for World Book Day

It's World Book Day on 2 March and we've got some great resources and suggestions to help you celebrate reading for pleasure. The benefits of reading on children's attainment and wellbeing are well-documented, so whether you want to go all out with costumes and whole-school activities or you want a low-key approach, don't miss out on marking this special day!

World Book Day identifies six elements as fundamental to fostering a love of reading in children:

  • Being read to regularly
  • Having books at home and school
  • Finding time to read
  • Having trusted help to find a book
  • Giving children a choice in what to read
  • Making reading fun

Find printable resources below, or have a look at our resource collection for well-known books and authors, such as the Harry Potter series or books by Roald Dahl.
