Tallies and pictograms: EAL resource pack

This EAL resource pack supports learners in maths in understanding how to interpret data using tallies and pictograms while developing the language for asking and answering questions, expressing and justifying opinions and comparing and contrasting.

It is suitable for learners at KS3 who are at New to English, Early Acquisition or Developing Competence stage of English language acquisition. It uses a barrier game, a substitution table and numerous visuals.
