This resource aims to get students joining in with reading this traditional call and response poem (or 'comptine') and identifying rhyming sounds. Starting by looking up the key words in the dictionary, students then read the poem and discuss its meaning. They then identify the rhyming sounds, colour coding them.

The PowerPoint slides include a re-ordering task and you can encourage students to practise and repeat the poem in pairs until their pronunciation is perfect! Some students will enjoy the challenge of memorising it or performing it with a partner.
