Take 10: Sydney, a global city
This revision resource uses dual coding and retrieval practice to review the case study of Sydney as one of the world's major cities. Students recall facts using memorable icons and make connections between those facts.
The resource consists of revision strips of images and questions, revision tips, exam practice questions, and a PowerPoint which can be used flexibly to present the information, to model how to learn it, for a revision starter or plenary, and for peer assessment or self-assessment.
There is also a short animation, in downloadable MP4 format, demonstrating to students how to link the dual-coding icons to create a chain of knowledge.
Like the other resources in our Take 10 collection, 'Sydney, a global city' was created to support the Eduqas B GCSE geography specification but may also be relevant to other exam boards. This resource includes model answers to the exam-style questions.
