Lascars, curry and shampoo: How has South Asia contributed to Britain?
This lesson uses a fascinating selection of accounts of South Asian contributions to British culture and society. Information cards give details of the lives of Sophia Duleep Singh, lascar soldiers, Indian ayahs, Cornelia Sorabji and Sake Dean Mahomed. A table is included to facilitate the learning which could be delivered as a carousel, in groups or individually. A PowerPoint version is available to support the lesson delivery.
