Match the genre or text type
This is a great matching exercise for KS2 in which children are asked to read short book extracts and match them to a genre or text-type. The resource has sections on fiction and non-fiction genres, including adventure, thriller, newspaper reports, non-chronological texts and persuasive writing.
An extension task is included, where children are asked to write their own extract for others to match to a genre.
