Question poems

A poetry activity based on the traditional Irish poem 'The Blackbird of Belfast Lough' and 'What are heavy?' by Christina Rossetti. Children look at the use of repeated questions to create dramatic effect. They then come up with their own sets of questions and surprising answers, and write an original question poem.

Suitable for Y4, Y5 and Y6.
