A useful timeline summary of the key scientists in the history of chemistry, along with facts about their scientific discovery or invention. Includes reference to the work of Volta, Dalton, Avogadro, Dury, Oersted, Bunsen, Mendeleev, Curie, Thomson, Bohr, Neilson, Percy Julian and Dorothy Hodgkin, among others.

This KS4 resource also includes a quick formative assessment or learning check in the form of a crossword (with answers for self- or peer-assessment) to assess students' understanding. This encourages closer engagement with the information and develops students' reading and literacy skills as they need to skim and scan to answer the relevant clues.

Download the accompanying resources, History of biology and History of physics if you are teaching combined science.
