This creative writing resource is based on Chapter 3 from The Other Side of Truth by Beverley Naidoo. Students who are studying this text can read this chapter, discuss events, characters, plot, language techniques and themes to give them a literary understanding of the text.

Students are then able to use the scaffolding and chapter analysis activities to plan and prepare for a piece of creative writing in letter form from a key character's perspective.

There is a sample paragraph for students to review before writing, to give them some supportive ideas around how to incorporate textual details and quotations into their piece of creative writing.

Designed for year 8 and KS3, this supportive resource encourages pupils to use details from the text in an imaginative piece to consolidate learning and understanding of character motivation. Additionally, a relevant success criteria included.
