Language discourses — wider listening recommendations

A helpful list of useful episodes of Radio 4's Word of Mouth series that are relevant to English Language A-level topics.

Students should choose one per week to listen to and record, in the table provided, the key linguistic points of the programme, their reflections and how it links with their studies. An exemplar set of notes has been provided to help students. 

Could also be useful as a jumping off point or impetus for A-level Language investigations.  

Topics include child language acquisition, language change, accents, language and gender, language and technology, spoken discourse and Black English.
