Take 10: MNCs in India
This revision resource uses the principles of dual coding and retrieval practice to help students learn and recall key information about multinational corporations in India for the Eduqas B GCSE geography specification.
Striking black and white icons are used to help make the key facts memorable. The PowerPoint presents those facts and models how to connect them to create a chain of knowledge. It also contains colour photos that can be used as a starter, and key words to check students' prior knowledge.
Students can cut out and annotate the strips of images from the Word document then use a second strip to test their recall. Exam-style questions and self-assessment grids are also provided.
An extract from the 'Revision tips' section:
- India is ranked seventh in the world for big companies. What does it provide them with?
- A highly educated and skilled workforce. Why is India’s workforce more attractive to MNCs than the workforce in other countries?
- It is much cheaper than in HICs. What else is attractive, apart from the workforce?
- Health and safety, and environmental laws, are more relaxed in India.
Carry on in the same way, making connections …
